I found my way into the financial services industry in a roundabout way – through a ten year career as a professional actor, predominantly on the stage. Someone who loves to argue, sing, & cry in front of an audience might not traditionally also love time-value of money calculations, but that’s me in a nutshell. I was often one of the only cast members in the professional acting world who had read & understood the insurance benefits guide through our professional association. I found myself in a position of trust explaining insurance coverage and our retirement savings options on a casual basis. When I was looking for the next step beyond performing, I got started in the industry providing insurance and investment advice, specializing in helping the creative class find ways to make their financial lives support their artistic and personal goals.

While working in my own independent practice, I was looking for a way to shift from working on my own to joining a team that aligned with my values. ES3 drew me in with their unique workplace culture, openness to change, and the ability to be a difference-maker in a nimble organization not tied to doing things the way they have always been done.

Supported by my strong practical & analytical mindset balanced by a creative streak, I understand our clients’ big picture and communicate ES3’s recommendations in engaging ways. I find that my experience working with creatives has proven quite transferrable to the typical Evolution Strategies client – after all we are all creatives in our own way.

Watch out for my next chapter with ES3 where I will continue to be creative and values driven as Para-Planner with the Evolution Strategies team.
